During the parliamentary committee hearings on Bill 9, the Commission questioned how the National Student Ombudsman will handle complaints relating to discrimination, including those from students with disabilities, students with learning difficulties, or racialized students. Indeed, the relationship between discrimination and denial of services seems to be completely obscured by the bill. Yet, over the past five years, the Commission has opened 147 investigation files on access and delivery of services in preschool, primary and secondary education.
