Putting and end to all forms of discrimination: December 10 : International Human Rights Day

The Commission is pleased to celebrate International Human Rights Day, which this year is focusing on the fight against racism and discrimination.
The UDHR, like the Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, states that all individuals have intrinsic rights and freedoms that ensure their protection and full /ticipation in society, and that all are equal in worth and dignity.

In a news release, the president of the Commission Gaétan Cousineau, mentions a number of initiatives undertaken in 2009 to fight poverty, exclusion and discrimination, stressing the urgent need to work together and appealing for greater solidarity, all the while paying homage to all those who, step by step, contribute to advancement of human rights.
