The Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse welcomes ruling on the prayer at the Saguenay city council

The Commission welcomed today the Supreme Court of Canada’s ruling that that reciting a prayer before a city council meeting infringes on articles 3 and 10 of the Québec Charter of Rights and Freedoms which guarantee freedom of religion and conscience.

Montréal, April 15, 2015 — The Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse welcomed today the Supreme Court of Canada’s ruling that that reciting a prayer before a city council meeting infringes on articles 3 and 10 of the Québec Charter of Rights and Freedoms which guarantee freedom of religion and conscience.
