Trans rights: The Commisson des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse calls for a revision of some civil status’ regulatory rules

​​Requirements for trans people to make a change on their birth certificate regarding their sex would infringe on their rights protected by the Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, the Commission has argued before the National Assembly’s Committee on Institutions studying the draft regulation concerning the Regulation respecting change of name and of other particulars of civil status for transsexual and transgender persons.
