And the finalists for the 2018 Rights and Freedoms Award are...

The Ready, Willing and Able program, by the Société québécoise de la déficience intellectuelle, Porte-Voix, by Coup d’Éclats, The LSTW magazine, by Lez Spread The Word and The You Inside Project, by LG2 are the four finalists announced today by the Commission.

Montréal, September 27, 2018– The Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse today announced the names of the four initiatives that are competing for the 2018 Rights and Freedoms Award :

  • Ready, Willing and Able, by the Société québécoise de la déficience intellectuelle, which focuses on inclusion in the labour market of people with an intellectual disability or an autism spectrum disorder.
  • Porte-Voix, by Coup d’Éclats, whose objective is to provide a space for young people in youth centres to express themselves and to help deconstruct the social stereotypes associated with their realities.
  • The LSTW magazine, by Lez Spread The Word, which aims to give more visibility to the lesbian community and demystify female homosexuality.
  • The You Inside Project, by LG2, whose goal is to raise awareness of the realities of trans people and the notion of gender identity in the school environment.
