Changes to the Youth Protection Act: the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse underscores the progress for the rights of Aboriginal children

In its brief submitted today to the Health and Social Services Commission of the National Assembly, the Commission considers that the proposed changes to the Youth Protection Act (YPA) generally respect the rights recognized to children in the Act and in the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, in particular those of Aboriginal children.​

Montréal, September 21, 2016 – In its brief submitted today to the Health and Social Services Commission of the National Assembly, the Commission considers that the proposed changes to the Youth Protection Act (YPA) generally respect the rights recognized to children in the Act and in the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, in particular those of Aboriginal children.
