Two new members of the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse take office

Two new members of the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse, Ms. Lizette Gauvreau and Ms. Martine Roy, took office today, having been sworn in by the President of the National Assembly, Mr. Jacques Chagnon, on November 1st.

Montréal, November 6, 2017– Two new members of the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse, Ms. Lizette Gauvreau and Ms. Martine Roy, took office today, having been sworn in by the President of the National Assembly, Mr. Jacques Chagnon, on November 1st.

The acting Chair of the Commission, Camil Picard, welcomed the arrival of these new part-time members for a five-year term. "It is my pleasure to welcome them to the Commission. We are pleased to be able to count on their expertise and knowledge to support the protection and promotion of human and youth rights, " he said.

Mr. Picard also wished to underline the great contribution of Mrs. Jocelyne Myre and of Mr. Martial Giroux, whose term ended after more than twenty years of hard work as members of the Commission. He thanked them warmly for their exemplary commitment to the Commission's mission.
