A new Vice-president responsible for the youth mandate at the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse

Suzanne Arpin took office today as Vice-President responsible for the youth mandate of the Commission, following her appointment by the National Assembly on June 4.

Montréal, June 10, 2019Suzanne Arpin took office today as Vice-President responsible for the youth mandate of the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse, following her appointment by the National Assembly on June 4.

A member of the Québec Bar since 1984, Ms. Arpin worked for nearly 25 years at the Centre jeunesse des Laurentides as a lawyer and head of the legal department. She was also the Legal Services Coordinator at the Department of Youth protection (DYP) of the Cree Territory of James Bay, where she established the James Bay Cree Legal Department. Most recently, she served as Chief Prosecutor and Spokesperson for the Public Inquiry Commission on relations between Indigenous Peoples and certain public services in Québec (Commission Viens).
