Bill 51: An addition to the Charter recommended to promote work-family balance

Montréal, September 15, 2020 - Family status must be added to the grounds of discrimination prohibited by the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms to eliminate the systemic discrimination that parents may face at work, the Commission recommended today during the special consultations and public hearings on Bill 51, an Act to improve the flexibility of the parental insurance plan in order to promote family-work balance.
