Sexual assault: the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse calls on the Government to recognize sexual harassment more explicitly in its action plan
The Commission recommends that sexual harassment, a practice prohibited by the Québec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, be adressed more explicitly in the next government action plan on sexual assault. "Sexual harassment is an act of domination and an abuse of power on people without their consent, said the Commission President, Jacques Frémont. It’s a form of sexual violence against women and the severity of its consequences must be recognized."
